Busy, Busy, Busy!

It’s been a while so I figured it was time for an update. We are busy. Sorry, let me say that again… WE ARE BUSY!!! If you haven’t noticed, the Gimenez workshop is cranking out guitars at a ridiculous rate. Aside from having orders to fill, we are gearing up for a very busy summer schedule that will include several guitar shows and events – some of which will be right here in New York.

A Great Night for Cracked Alice & Other Local Bands at Revolution

When Trapt came to Long Island on Friday, February 26th, four local bands got the opportunity to share the stage with them at Revolution Music Hall in Amityville. Among them was Cracked Alice who got the night started with a blistering set that literally set the stage and got the crowed ready for the night to come. Alex Gil, lead guitarist for the band, played a Sinner 622B from Gimenez Guitars for their entire performance and he did not disappoint!

Hanging with Frank The Bald Guy of For The Kill

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of spending a little time with Frank The Bald Guy, lead singer and guitarist of For The Kill, a local hard rock outfit. Among other venues, they can frequently be found at Revolution Music Hall in Amityville where they recently opened up for Puddle of Mudd along with some other well-known local bands. You may be familiar with their self-titled debut CD, released in 2014. For those of you who don’t know Frank, he’s a warm, genuine, talented guy who truly loves his craft and went out of his way to make me feel welcome.

Get to Know the Gimenez Guitars Saint

You’ve no doubt been seeing lots of posts, both here and on our Facebook page, about the various prototypes Gimenez Guitars has been testing out. Many local artists have had the opportunity to try them out, both in their rehearsal studios as well as at live shows. But aside from their unique, unmistakably good looks you may not know too much about the Sinner and the Saint – our flagship models. This is the first article written to give you a more in-depth look at one of those guitars – the Saint.

Working with The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy

Once again we have the privilege of working with a very talented local musician on a new project. The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy is in the studio right now laying down tracks for a new concept album scheduled to be released in 2016. You may be familiar with their previous efforts: 2008’s self-titled debut The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy and 2013’s Are You Conspirienced?, both available on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and CD Baby, along with some of Dan’s earlier work.

Alex Gil Getting Close with the Sinner

Alex Gil, lead guitarist for Cracked Alice, a local hard rock outfit here in NYC, has taken one of our Sinners out for an extended test drive. In order to get to know this ax a little better, Alex (aka Lynxx Hrtz) has been using it for a few weeks now and says he has “bonded” with the instrument. So much so that he’s now writing new music with it.

Thornes – The Testing Continues

It was a great night for me a few weeks ago meeting New York City’s own Thornes – a hard rock power trio with Antoinette Thornes on guitar and vocals, Steve Steele on vocals and bass, and Randy Satarsky on drums.

The Art of Capturing a Performance

I want to take a moment to draw attention to one of the hard working individuals that many local musicians have come to rely on to document their performances. Brian Matus Photography was recently hired to shoot the Guilty Pleasures show a few weeks ago at the Nutty Irishman, in Farmingdale on Long Island. This was an important performance for two reasons: it was Guilty Pleasures’ debut at the Irishman and it was the performance debut of an all-new Gimenez Guitars prototype. Photographing this show was especially challenging due to the less-than-ideal lighting at the venue. The lack of white lights on the stage made the conditions very dark… and… well… red. Not wanting to use a fill flash for fear of ruining the natural look of the performance, Brian took the raw photos into his editing suite and brought them back to life in a way that only he could.

Get Involved and Save Money

I’ve been booking as many dates with artists as I can over the past few weeks. It has been an absolute blast! You may have already seen posts and pics of recent meetings with Bert of Guilty Pleasures, Phil of Hi Def, Anthony and Hector of The Blackfires, and most recently Alex and Matt of Cracked Alice. All of those meetings produced helpful insights that have already resulted in improvements in our guitars. But we are far from done! I’ve already booked half a dozen more beta-tests and I want to do even more! If you’re interested in influencing the evolution of the world’s greatest new guitar company then send us your details.
