It was a great night for me a few weeks ago meeting New York City’s own Thornes – a hard rock power trio with Antoinette Thornes on guitar and vocals, Steve Steele on vocals and bass, and Randy Satarsky on drums.
I got to see Antoinette jam out on some impromptu riffs through her Marshall JCM 800. Totally cranked and clearly showed her chops. Steve first tried out a Sinner 622B and quickly felt at home with its slim, tung-oiled neck and super hot EMG H3 pickups. Antoinette found the red Saint 624B more her style with its still hot, but milder and richer sounding, EMG H1A’s. These are my personal favorites with their alnico magnets.
