Alex Gil Getting Close with the Sinner

Alex Gil, lead guitarist for Cracked Alice, a local hard rock outfit here in NYC, has taken one of our Sinners out for an extended test drive. In order to get to know this ax a little better, Alex (aka Lynxx Hrtz) has been using it for a few weeks now and says he has “bonded” with the instrument. So much so that he’s now writing new music with it.

This particular model is the Sinner 622B, a 2-knob setup with a pair of hot EMG H3 passive humbuckers – perfect for Alex’s aggressive, hard-rocking style. And with it’s sharper edges, black hardware, and translucent black finish, we have to say it looks so natural in his capable hands.

We first met Alex and the guys in the band (Matthew Paul – vocals, guitars & keys, Stan Esposito – bass, Luis Cambero – drums) at a show over the summer at the Bowery Ballroom when they shared the stage with Crush of Empires, Eve to Adam, and Killcode. It was an incredible lineup and a great night for local music! We spoke right before his set and laid the groundwork for moving this collaboration forward. We could not be more excited to be working so closely with such a talented local musician!

New Cracked Alice CD in the Works

In related news, recording has begun on a new EP from Cracked Alice – their third. The album is slated to have five new songs and the Gimenez Sinner will be featured prominently. Some drum tracks have already been laid down and the band is heading back into the studio to keep working. We’ll be posting more about this as we get closer to the release date, sometime in early 2016. We consider it a huge honor to be a part of such an important endeavor and cannot wait to hear the finished product!

Discover Why We Do It

If you’re unfamiliar with Cracked Alice, we have some good news. You can hear them live for yourself and find out why we’re so excited to be working with Alex and the boys. They recently had a show at Desmond’s Tavern a few weeks ago and play local venues regularly so keep your ears open. We’ll be posting shows as they get announced on our Gig Calendar and on Facebook and Twitter. You’ll even see the Gimenez Sinner make a live appearance!
