Whether on stage or in the studio, Gimenez Guitars is always at home. Recently, renowned guitarist, Amadou Gaye of the world-famous Cafe Wha? band used a Gimenez Sinner to record some tracks on his debut album, Funky Crisp. The Bunker Studio located in Brooklyn, New York was the perfect place for Amadou to make this epic recording.
In the Company of Musical Legends
Amadou’s career as an accomplished musician has taken him all over the United States and the world. But, his home is Cafe Wha? in New York City’s historic West Village. Cafe Wha? saw the beginning of the careers for such famous names as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bryan Stephens, Brocket Parsons of Lady Gaga, and many, many others. Now it’s time for Amadou Gaye to join their ranks.
Amadou’s style is a mix between the raw grind of Jimi Hendrix and the tasty funk of Prince. And his new album is full of this combination with heart-felt, thoughtful lyrics that tell a story and give a message. We are honored and humbled by Amadou Gaye’s choice in guitars for this album.
